News update 1-20-11

I figured it was time for me to make an update. For starters I have a new site under way. It will have an mp3 player as well as an updated vinyl discography. Im real excited about this cause ill be able to update every aspect of it on my own which means it will be as current as possible at all times.

2011 is here and the new releases will start going to press in the upcoming months. Expect new releases this year from Harms Way, Incendiary, Xibalba, When Tigers Fight, Rattletooth and some others to be announced. This is gonna be the year of the LP for me. Much more to be announced on this in February.

I just put a new CCA shirt in our estore. I own a bulldog and figured it was time I make a shirt for him.

Its been a year in the making and I am more than happy to announce New York’s own INCENDIARY is the latest addition to CCA. This Long Island, NY based band  has already released a full length, entitled “Crusades”, and is in the process of releasing two split 7″s . One which is about to come out  with Suburban Scum on Mayfly Records and the other being released in 2011 with  Unrestrained on Trip Machine Records.  With influences from Indecision, Snapcase and Strife, these upcoming releases will fill all your needs for late 90′s influenced hardcore.

The first of our Incediary releases will be a split 7″ with California’s XIBALBA, who play Disembodied/Crowbar influenced metal at its finest. Xibalba has a record coming out soon on there label, A389 Records, which is sure to not disappoint. The second of our Incediary releases will be a full length LP that will follow the split 7″ shortly. These will both be Spring/Summer releases in 2011. Be sure to check out incendiary in January with 108 as well as with Most Precious Blood on there “Do Not Resuscitate” record release shows.

Harms Way has returned from their European tour and has began the final steps in writing the upcoming, still untitled, full length that we will be bringing to you in 2011. While in Europe the band sold out of the limited color way of the “No Gods No Masters” 7″ we pressed. We still have a small handful of first pressing colors as well as a new second pressing. Check the bands myspace page for info on dates with Weekend Nachos.

When Tigers Fight will be finishing up recording the new full length, “Death Songs”, in the upcoming weeks. The preproduction for these songs is awesome and will please any fans of the bands 7″ as well as fans of band members earlier projects.

News Update 11-10-10

I am more than excited to announce Closed Casket Activities will be releasing the upcoming full length for Chicago, Illinois own HARM’S WAY. After releasing the bands last 7″,  “No Gods No Masters“, and working with them as they toured the US, with bands such as Foundation and Backtrack, I couldn’t think of a better band to celebrate our 20th release with. The band has already started the writing process for this yet to be titled full length and recording will begin this winter for a spring 2011 release.  More details will come soon at www.closedcasketactivities.com

As of now the band is gearing up for the “Grey Heavens” European tour with Ghent, Belgium’s Rise and Fall as well as southern California’s Nails. In related news we just got the 2nd pressing of the HARM’S WAY – “No Gods No Masters” 7″. Limited to just 666 copies, in two different color ways, we pressed a color way limited to 150 copies to only be available in the Europe. These will not be sold in the US where as the other color is available now in our eStore. Also available are the final copies of the first pressing.

WHEN TIGERS FIGHT is roughly half way through the recording of there next full length, entitled  “Death Songs”. What I have heard so far is about everything fans of Damnation AD, The Promise and Another Victim could hope for. This will be our 19th release, will be released on 12″ color vinyl and will be packaged in original artwork by artist John Macnair. More news will surface shortly about this release as well as north eastern dates.

TORCH RUNNER is just about to hit the road for about six weeks from coast to coast. Be sure to support these guys and pick up their latest 10″ record, “Locust Storm” on Communitas Records. More info on tour dates are available at www.myspace.com/torchrunnernc

RATTLETOOTH has also finished recording there half of a split 7″ with St. Louis, Missouri’s Everything Went Black. The record is going to be available on I Hate Punk Rock Records with artwork by Ryan Patterson. More from these guys to surface in the future.

We have also started working on revamping the eStore as well as this website. Hopefully we will have an update for you on both of those subjects soon. Releases 21, 22, and 23 are already in the works. More details to come!

News update 9.23

Been a second since I’ve posted an update. A ton of stuff has been in the mix since though. First and foremost I am glad to announce that WHEN TIGERS FIGHT will be making there return with a new full length I will be releasing this winter. The as of now untitled full length will have 11 new songs that are already in the process of being recorded. This record takes a different approach than the last record, “Ghost Story”, and is, in my opinion, some of the best music these guys have written to date. Secondly HARMS WAY will be touring Europe this November with Germanys own Rise and Fall (Deathwish Inc.) and Nails (Southern Lord). Tour dates for this are available at www.myspace.com/harmsxway. In related Harms Way news, We are down to the final copies of the first pressing of “No Gods No Masters”. I suggest you pick it up from our store soon. Plans for a second pressing are already in the works as well. More news on that will be up in the weeks to come.

Speaking of final copies of records…I am down to the last copies of the CCA version of the CREATURES 7″. I was also also to pick up a small number of copies of the band edition which is available in the store now.

New Update 7.27.10

Just back today from the Sound and Fury Festival in California. It was something to say the least. Got to see some great bands play but due to some stupidity had to miss seeing some friends play there sets. If you were there you saw Harms Way had the S&F edition of the “No Gods No Masters” vinyl ep as well as the release of our latest record from Creatures. This week I will start shipping Creatures presales (Held up due to shipping and S&F) as well as putting up a very limited amount of the band pressing of the 7″.  Hellfish Family still has copes of there edition available as well.

Last week was also the announcement of Harms Way European tour this fall with Rise and Fall and Nails. I couldnt be more pumped for the Harms Way guys. Hopefully I will have a repressing of the 7″ in in time for a special European pressing. Dates will be announced soon.

Next week there will be some charity auctions up to fund some new records and clean off some shelves. I recently moved and found a few boxes with out of print colors of more than one record as well as test pressings and shirts. Check back!

News update 7-20

The Creatures – Salvation 7″s are done being printed and will start shipping on the 27th. They look amazing as I have seen pictures of them and they are currently shipping to me now. My friend at HELLFISH FAMILY printed everything and they appear to look amazing. There version is now shipping and Creatures will have an edition at Sound and Fury this coming weekend. I will be giving away 1 test pressing of this record with all presales. The winner will be announced here.

Sound and Fury, in addition to Creatures, will have Harms Way playing as well. I will have a limited version of the “No Gods No Masters” 7″ available there as well. If its anything like United Blood they will sell out quick.

August will start the recording date of our next upcoming full length release. That will be announced soon as well as a bunch of tours, new merch and record pressings.

Just got word from HELLFISH that the Covers are cut, hand printed and look great. This coming week the B-sides will be printed and then be on there way. If you havent picked up a copy of this record yet we still have some left over but they will not be available for long as there are only 100 with the “salvation” cover we have.

News update 6-15-10

Pre-sales are up no for our limited pressing of the CREATURES – SALVATION 7″! This is a split release with our new friends on the west coast, Hellfish Family. This release features two new songs on color vinyl with a screen printed B side and a limited screen printed “Salvation” cover. Only 100 of these exist and it is exclusive to our store.
